Area 51 Software is six elite engineers and professionals with over a century of combined experience — operators at the top of their careers and the top of their game — building private-by-default tools for people who refuse to outsource their judgment to a SaaS dashboard.
We Built Our Own Because The Existing Tools Weren't Good Enough.
In 2021, we hit the same wall every working operator eventually hits: the off-the-shelf tooling for startups was unsatisfactory on more than one level. Bloated where it should have been sharp. Cloud-locked where it should have been local. Surveilled where it should have been private. Priced for VC-backed enterprises but sold to founders trying to ship.
So we did the only thing engineers ever do when the tools are wrong — we built our own. Best-of-breed by every measurable standard. Then we realized other operators had exactly the same problems we did, and decided to license what we'd built so they wouldn't have to start from scratch.

Some workflows require pushing data to our cloud. When that happens, every byte of PII and PHI is sealed with AES-256 military-grade encryption. We hold your data temporarily and carefully — but it belongs to you. At end of license, one button instantly purges everything from every server. Built in on day one, not bolted on later.
NO UNAPPROVED TELEMETRY
Telemetry is off by default. It only ever runs when you explicitly opt in — and even then, only the minimum needed for the feature you asked for. No silent reporting. No background phone-home. Nothing leaves your machine without your approval.
NO DARK PATTERNS
No fake urgency. No cancellation mazes. No "are you sure?" guilt screens. If you want to leave, you leave. Your data comes with you.
